Governance definitely can’t be assessed with Earth Blox using remote sensing! However, compared to the other disclosure pillars, these “Governance” disclosures are generally a straightforward data-gathering exercise. They include questions like:
- How often is the board informed about the organisation’s nature-related issues?
- How does the board monitor progress against nature-related goals and targets
- Whether performance metrics for nature-related issues are part of remuneration policies
- How human rights due diligence processes are embedded in an organisation’s policies
