Edinburgh, Scotland,  November 19, 2024 — – Earth Blox, a leading provider of spatial intelligence for managing climate and nature-related risk and compliance, today announced a partnership with Chloris Geospatial, a pioneer in forest carbon data. This collaboration integrates Chloris’s premium, high-resolution above ground biomass data directly into the Earth Blox platform, enabling businesses to conduct comprehensive forest carbon assessments anywhere on the planet at speed and scale.

Chloris Geospatial, founded by leading scientists from Boston University, Harvard University, Princeton, MIT, and the Woodwell Climate Research Center, is globally recognised for its advanced Earth Observation and remote sensing techniques. Using machine learning algorithms, Chloris fuses multiple satellite data sources to deliver detailed, high-quality metrics on above-ground biomass stock and change, as well as forest cover change and related carbon emissions and removals.

Through this partnership, Earth Blox customers can access Chloris’s data as part of an extensive geospatial toolkit designed to deliver rapid, reliable nature and climate insights. This data is especially suited to carbon credit validation for nature-based solutions projects and reporting to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

"Through an intuitive platform that provides access to the most authoritative data, Earth Blox makes it easy for businesses to answer any climate or nature-related question. Our partnership with Chloris Geospatial enhances our offering with top-tier forest carbon data, helping customers mitigate risk, manage regulation, and drive a sustainable future for their business,” said Dr Genevievie Patenaude, CEO of Earth Blox.

Earth Blox provides curated data from world-leading premium and open-access providers, each selected to provide critical insights into ecosystems, climate, land use, human activity and more. Customers can also bring their own data into the platform. Whether tracking forest carbon for sustainable investment portfolios, managing biodiversity impacts, or monitoring compliance with regulatory standards, Earth Blox ensures that businesses have the right data at their fingertips.

The platform offers custom and ready-made solutions for a range of assessments, including the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), EUDR, climate hazards, and nature-based solutions project due diligence. The cloud-based technology handles the complexity and scale of big data analyses and processing, removing the need for deep-level GIS expertise in-house.

"By partnering with Earth Blox, we further empower organisations across all sectors to integrate high-quality forest carbon data seamlessly into their sustainability and climate action plans,” said Marco Albani, CEO and Co-Founder of Chloris Geospatial. “Whether for project due diligence, monitoring, or investment in nature-based solutions, our advanced satellite data combined with Earth Blox’s accessible platform delivers timely, actionable insights, enabling users to make informed, impactful decisions at scale.”
